A new edition of Pentland Hero is now available.
Pentland Hero has been out of print for some time and is much sought after. It describes how, against huge odds quietly spoken Orkney Farmer’s son, Andrew Banks created the cheap, frequent short sea crossing to Orkney. He did this without a penny of public funding and in the face of predatory competition from a heavily subsidised state-owned operator an a sustained campaign to undermine his efforts. That his new state of the art catamaran Pentalina has proved to be a tremendous success, is a testament to Andrew’s grit and determination.
